Elijah killed the false prophets. Today we do it by taking up the Word of God against them. Just see how evident it is that they cannot stand against the Word of God!
1 Kings 18:40 Then Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let one of them
escape.” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew
    them there.

Book Review: The Popular Handbook on the Rapture

(Edited by Tim LaHaye, Thomas Ice & Ed Hindson) >>>

This book contains a series of chapter articles by a compendium of authors, including the general editors Tim LaHaye, Thomas Ice and Ed Hindson, as well as chapters contributed by Paul Wilkinson, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, David Reagan, Wayne Brindle, Michael Vlach, Wayne House, Grant Jeffrey and Robert Dean. I count the general editors among my personal friends and conference colleagues as I would various of the contributing authors.

I certainly appreciate the impact Tim LaHaye has had in propounding belief in the Rapture in a popular season where Rapture belief and eschatology generally has greatly declined. I likewise consider the refutation of Dominion Theology by Thomas Ice and Wayne House to be the finest single work ever authored in opposition to that false school of doctrine. I am furthermore unable to express the depth of my appreciation for the longstanding work of my friend Arnold Fruchtenbaum, who personifies the theologically sane axis of the modern Messianic Movement that has been so plagued by lunacy. Residing in Great Britain, I can testify that the work of Paul Wilkinson in confronting so-called “Christian Anti-Zionism” and “Christian Palestinianism” to be absolutely invaluable.

It is to my confusion, therefore, that such a fine host of authors and editors have produced what is titled The Popular Handbook on the Rapture, whose content is beyond inconsistent not only among the authors themselves, but with the doctrinal positions many of these authors once espoused personally. I wish to emphasize that my comments in this review refer only to the internal content of this book itself and in no way are designed to imply any aspersions on the other fine work of its authors and editors, most of which I would rate very good to excellent. I would also quickly add that I have no problems with the chapters contributed by Paul Wilkinson, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, nor in the main, with David Reagan. The rest, however, has left me feeling like Alice in Wonderland, trying to make sense out of the diatribes of the Mad Hatter.

Interview of Roger Oakland by Jan Markell on The Emergent Church

Roger Oakland shares the hard-hitting truth about the Emerging Church in his new book, “Faith Undone: The Emerging Church–a New Reformation or an End-Time Deception?”

Countering the Counter Reformation in the Midst of Evangelical Christianity; Commentary by Roger Oakland

While I am sometimes accused of being a “Catholic-basher,” this is not my desire, nor my intention. I have a number of Roman Catholic acquaintances, and I care for them very much. I also have a number of Evangelical and Protestant acquaintances, and I care about them equally as well. However, in both cases, if a true understanding of the Gospel according to the Scriptures is not present in their lives, then their views will not be biblical—it won’t matter what they call themselves. For the record, my desire is to follow Jesus Christ and His Word and no man, no matter who he is. Likewise, I desire my acquaintances to do the same. It is love, not hate, that motivates me to share the Gospel with them, for there is only one Gospel that truly saves.

Here is the view I promote. Saving faith hinges entirely on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, not on an affiliation with a church body. To be born again is to die to the old life of living for self and sin and to be reborn of the Spirit of God when one acknowledges his inability to save himself but rather trusts in Christ alone and His death on the Cross to purchase our salvation.

Many Catholics do not realize that official Catholic teaching does not recognize the biblical Gospel of salvation by grace alone but adds to it the appendage of our merit and participation in the sacraments. By the same token, many Protestants do not realize the biblical faith that martyrs (the disciples, the reformers, etc.) lived and died for. Our hope of an eternal home in Heaven rests in Christ and Christ alone and is offered to all, who in child-like faith, receive Him.
I am not certain when I first realized that the Roman Catholic Church, particularly the Jesuits, were the root force behind the coming one-world religion. If I were pressed to come up with an original time, it would be difficult. Coming to this realization was more of a process for me. The Bible foretells the coming of the Harlot. G.S. McLean always instilled in me that the harlot was apostate Christianity. This I still believe is the proper definition.

Through writing New Wine and the Babylonian Vine, I could see that the final one-world religion will be a mix of all religions for the cause of peace. This will include a revival of ancient Babylonianism that will be rooted in the worship of creation, based on Darwinian evolution that is rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Unholy Trinity by John MacArthur

John MacArthur’s exposé of Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
What is your position?

“All those who truly love Christ and care about the truth have a solemn duty to defend the truth byexposing and opposing these lies that masquerade as truth. If we fail in that duty because of indifference, apathy, or a craving for the approval of men, we are no less guilty than those who actively spread the lies.”

“There’s The Church Channel, Daystar, God TV, World Harvest Television (LeSEA), Total Christian Television, and several others. Some of them feature blocs of family television programming and a few fairly sound teachers who providemoments of escape from the prosperity preachers. But all of them give prominence to enormousamounts of heresy and religious claptrap, enough to make them positively dangerous. And TBN is singularly responsible for kicking that door open so wide.”

Boek onthul teologiese stryd by universiteit

http://www.opgestaan.com

Finis Jennings Dake; Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible. Please refer to Jeff Spencer’s article, “The Jesus of the Dake Annotated Reference Bible” at the Apologetics index >>>

Conclusion
The above research only scratches the surface of the heresy that is contained within the pages of the Dake Bible. Dake’s view of Jesus, from His teaching of the preincarnate nature of Christ to his teaching of Christ Incarnate, is filled with contradictions, confusion, and doctrinal chaos. The Jesus of the Dake Annotated Reference Bible is demonstrably not the Jesus of the Bible.

What makes this so troubling is that Dake and his aberrant teachings are accepted within the confines of the orthodox Christian community. In fact, never have I seen so much heresy contained in the teaching of one man, and that man still be considered Christian. The reason for this is either ignorance of what Finis Jennings Dake actually taught or a church that is so biblically illiterate that it cannot tell Living Water from deadly poison.

If more believers were informed about Dake’s heresies regarding such topics as the nature of God, the Trinity, the Incarnation, and the deity of Christ, then the Dake Annotated Reference Bible would quickly fall off of the best-seller chart and into a place where it belongs—the garbage bin, alongside other best-selling editions that promote principles that can be at home only in the kingdom of the cults. It is my desire to be a voice used by the Lord to help accomplish this feat.

Dakes Bible by Finis Dake – Reviewed by Joseph R. Chambers >>>
Conclusion

Finis Dake’s Bible is without question filled with questionable commentaries.  It is not the reading material for young, immature Christians or undiscerning ministers.  It has just enough truth to make his error seem plausible and convincing.  He surely has convinced a host of modern day Pentecostals and Charismatic’s.

No one would suggest that he is singularly responsible for the theological mess that floods these churches, but neither should he be excused for his part.  Often when a figure such as Dake is dead, his teaching becomes even more powerful and accepted.  Godly men and women must return to the simple Word of God and quit depending on popular figures to do their interpreting of truth.  The Bible will interpret itself if you will:

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15)

Dake’s Dangerous Doctrine >>>

Conclusion

Dake’s view of essential Christian doctrines sometimes has more in common with the theology of the cults than with historic Christian theology. His works, while containing many biblical truths, include numerous other unbiblical and outlandish teachings, such as: God lives in a mansion on a material planet called Heaven and is invisible to us only because He is so far away that we cannot see Him, humans are miniatures of God in attributes and power, Adam replaced Lucifer as ruler of the earth, disease germs are related to demons, God wants the races to remain separate as they were originally and will be in eternity. It is unfortunate that Dake’s faulty works find such a welcome place in Christian churches and bookstores.

THE CONTROL AND MANIPULATION MENTALITY OF THE JOYCE MEYER CLAN

It is observed in personal experience with Joyce Meyer followers in South Africa with specific reference to the problem woman have by following this woman and how it impacts in the practice due to her ramping and ravings which unlearned people just consume! Please be very careful and get away from this woman’s teaching, it will destroy you and your family!

Coming Out Of The Darkness And Into The Light! “Article on Joyce Meyers Ministries”

By Shirley Hamilton

The ‘fruit’ of the fault-finding, non-constructive criticism, the undercurrent of control by intimidation created an atmosphere of fear, and continual ‘mixed messages’ caused spiritual confusion as the demands of integrity, excellence and no strife did not match up with how some employees were treated by management and by some members of staff.

Although management changes were frequent there was always an undercurrent of fear, due to harsh words and treatment. Sometimes, gifts would be given afterwards to relieve the atmosphere! I believe that the cause of control by intimidation was due to the insecurity of some and, also, to a lack of trust from others.

There seemed to be no ‘fear of the Lord’ and as a result no conviction by the Holy Spirit as to the way some of the employees were being treated. Therefore, there was a serious contradiction between the Word of God and this Christian-run ministry. The Word of God says that God’s people will be known by their ‘fruit’ as they ‘love one another’, and indeed this is the way that non-believers will believe that Jesus is who He says He is, but the ‘fruit’ tasted by some employees was not ‘sweet to the taste’, and it was certainly not a good witness to my family, who stood by my husband and myself during this time.

Andrew Murray versus Apostate Church

Will we ever see the caliber of an Andrew Murray on the South African theological scene again? For all the mistakes of Calvinism, he has taught the Word of God as the Word of God. Today it is held as a fable or not scientific enough to be held as final authority from God on all dogma for the Church… read more

Spiritual Deception, Revival and Angus Buchan >>>

Prof. Johan Malan, South Africa (May 2010)

“Many disappointed Christians perceive that Angus, unlike Paul, does not proclaim the full counsel of God to his thousands of followers. This is a relevant observation because, if he would have done so, he would in concrete terms have achieved much more than is the case at present. He cannot even remotely be mentioned in the same vein as a revival preacher such as Andrew Murray. It is in fact highly questionable whether the movement which he describes as a revival indeed qualifies to be defined as such.” Read more…

BETH MOORE AND JOHN PIPER LEAD LECTIO DIVINA-LITE AT PASSION 2012

By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Jan 6, 2012 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features, Southern Baptist Convention

Apprising Ministries has been warning for years concerning the evil effects of the neo-liberal in the Emerging Church aka the Emergent Church. It’s an incontrovertible fact that right from its hatching in hell corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), such as that taught by Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster along with his spiritual twin and Southern Baptist minister Dallas Willard, was a core doctrine.

Spreading as a spiritual cancer throughout apostatizing evangelicalism, we even see that it’s slithered all the way into the New Calvinst neo-reformed camp e.g. as in Acts 29 Network And Reformed Counter Reformation Spirituality? One of the fruits of CSM is a blurring of doctrinal lines, which is particularly dangerous in this time of postmodernism and growing spiritual blindness.

Seminar “Emerging Church” (Ontluikende Kerk)

It was presented on 28 February 2009, Centurion, Pretoria by Mr Sarel van der Merwe.

It was very insightful and it has attracted comments from the Dutch Reformed Church to the extent of “Verdagmakery van NG Kerk teoloë” which is of course actually quite hilarious seeing that it is the other way around if you consider the facts. It seems that some people are wilfully blind even when confronted with the appropriate facts! Mr van der Merwe has shown to what extent the “Emerging Church” has infiltrated the broader Church in the world as well as locally.

Neglecting this warning may have dire effects on the Church.

The true context of Matthew 18

Matt 18: 7 – 9

(7) “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!
(8) “If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.
(9) “If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell.

Mar 9:42
(42) “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe to stumble, it would be better for him if, with a heavy millstone hung around his neck, he had been cast into the sea.
Are the above mentioned scriptures from Matthew 18 and Mark 9 not more relevant than the acclaimed passage below that the so called, scorned “wolves in sheep’s clothing” love to quote?

Their beliefs are propagated in the public domain, without proper Biblical scrutiny and therefore they become the stumbling blocks spoken about, by the Lord Jesus Himself. Shouldn’t they be cut off or plucked out before they drag more people with them into the “eternal fire” or “fiery hell”.

Mat 18:15-17

(15) “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
(16) “But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
(17) “If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
In an arrogant fashion, they refuse to listen. They will not retract their teachings and books, and they willfully associate themselves with those whom they openly work together with and often quote because they agree with them!

They have been engaged and they persist with their views. They seem to defend this position they have taken in. Therefore, their sin is against the Lord and His Church – not against an individual per se! I hope they will talk to the Lord!

This discussion is in the open and therefore needs to be argued in the public domain!

Die “Brandpunt” van Suid-Afrika se Ontluikende Kerk

Ds. Sy drie gesprekgenote was mnr.

Ds. Jannie Pelser se inleidende woorde tot sy program “Brandpunt” is ‘n sprekende voorbeeld hiervan.

“Die afgelope tyd is die sg. Opkomende Kerk, die ‘Emerging Church’ baie in die nuus, en sommige mense is onbeskaamd krities daaroor; andere is weer rasend opgewonde en nou, hoe moet ‘n mens daaroor oordeel.” (Klem bygevoeg)

Pentecostal and Charismatic Is There or Was There Any Difference? By James Jacob Prasch

– Does Scripture prove tongues always be a human language?

We agree with the exercising of the Gifts, albeit very conservatively according to Scripture, but we reject the extreme and non Biblical manifestation thereof!

CONCLUSION

The Bible warns us in Rom 16:17-18:
(17) Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
(18) For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

Certainly this applies to the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement. It has rightly been called the glue of the End Times Apostasy. The only protection from it is to obey the Bible and separate from it.

The Islamic Antichrist
The Unresolved Problems with Joel Richardson’s Theory about The Islamic Antichrist

by J. Jacob Prasch

Note: This review is based on the electronic version of Joel Richardson’s book published on his website “Joel’s Trumpet”.

“Joel Richardson’s first problem is that he all but ignores a fundamental principle of biblical exegesis: the Old Testament is interpreted in light of the New Testament of Christ. The New Testament focus (and indeed the only mention) of Gog and Magog is the post-millennia unleashing of Satan followed by Gog and Magog where they are identified with the nations of the earth. It makes no mention of the Antichrist or individuals. Joel Richardson ignores this, violating a foundational tenet of hermeneutics.”

Articles

The Trojan Horse and the Dutch Reformed Church

This article is related to the notices, letters and resolutions in respect of a certain moral inclination, preceding the Dutch Reformed Church’s General Synod Meeting of 2007 and what follows.  Not only has the foundation been laid, for the final decision on homosexuality, the last couple of weeks, but it has come a long way since 2002.   The Dutch Reformed Church has finally declared (2007-06-08) that the Word of God is not essential in their walk with God.

It is clear that this so-called “paradigm shift” has moved the beacons from reasonable hermeneutics (exegeses) to very poor hermeneutics, by demanding that homosexual orientated Ministers be allowed in the pulpit. Professors from various theological faculties have signed a document requesting that the Word of God should be denounced. Obviously they do not know any better, seeing that they have already undermined the Word of God, while those who supposedly know better, who allow this kind of behaviour, find themselves being more accountable.
