SA winning 4 classes – Chardonnay, white blends, other white wines (with my personal favourite De Morgenzon Reserve Chenin) and other red varieties so not too bad but we seem to be behind Australia and NZ a bit in the overall stakes.

I can’t help wonder though about participation and whether some of the better estates eschew entering?
