Kruger camps see restaurant shake-up due to ‘poor service’
Cape Town – SANParks says Mugg and Bean outlets at Kruger National Park’s Letaba, Satara and Olifants rest camps have been ordered to vacate the premises, following a legal dispute with its operator Ringgold Companies.
Temporary restaurants have already been put in place according to SANParks, as the park is set to cut power to the three Mugg and Bean outlets on Thursday, 21 September 2017.
The legal dispute with Ringgold follows a host of complaints by guests related to the quality of service experienced at the above mentioned rest camps. The Arbitrators awarded in favour of SANParks on the matter. However, Ringgold is challenging the arbitration process.
“Ringgold was requested to vacate the premises in terms of the arbitration award and a letter of demand was sent to their attorneys of record to settle its utilities account by 18 September 2017, which it failed to do,” according to SANParks Head of Communications, Janine Raftopoulos,
“There are already temporary restaurant facilities in place to provide services to customers in each of the rest camps,” says Raftopoulos.
